TB-500
TB-500 is a synthetic fragment corresponding to an active region of thymosin beta-4, a naturally-occurring 43-amino-acid protein that plays roles in cell migration and actin binding. The fragment is studied primarily in animal-model recovery research.
Mechanism
- Actin binding. The fragment retains the actin-binding site of the parent protein, relevant to cytoskeletal remodeling during cell migration.
- Cell migration. Studied for its role in mobilizing progenitor cells to sites of tissue injury.
- Angiogenesis. Parallel literature to BPC-157 on new blood-vessel formation at injury sites.
